Eileen Goodwin Obituary

Eileen Jean Goodwin (Stumpo), passed away on March 10th, 2025, surrounded by her family in Wakefield, RI.  A recent transplant to Rhode Island in 2022 following the death of the love of her life, Harrison Charles Goodwin, Eileen moved in with her son, Jared, daughter-in-law, Cameron and two grandchildren, Madeleine (Maddi) and Harrison (Harry).   Eileen cherished being able to spend time with her grandchildren, especially when they would come up to her apartment at night for dessert, to online shop, or to watch the Phillies. She quickly became a fixture in the local community, whether at the local diner, the deli, or the kids’ sporting events, and was royalty at the nail salon and hair dresser.

Eileen was born and raised in the Tacony section of Philadelphia, the daughter of Francis Xavier and Ethel Stumpo, and sister to Francis, Patricia, Michael, and Mary Beth.  She attended Our Lady of Consolation grade school and Nazareth Academy for high school.  Immediately after graduating, she attended the X-ray technician program offered by Nazareth Hospital and Holy Family College.  She ended up spending the next 50 years at Nazareth Hospital where she was instrumental in transforming the department into one of the top medical imaging institutions in the Philadelphia area.

On Monday, March 24th, 2025, a visitation from 9:00am to 10:15am followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30am will be held at Our Lady of Consolation church located at 7056 Tulip Street, Philadelphia, PA. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South County Hospital via this website:
