Konstantinos “Gus” Vafiadis fell asleep in the Lord on January 7, 2022. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Gus was born on March 27, 1953 on the island of Chios, Greece in the village of Tholopotami. He came to America at the age of 15 with his parents and two brothers. He started working as a bus boy, later getting a job at the Gingham House Restaurant in Northeast Philadelphia. He then went on to become a cook there, and would soon go on to buy the Gingham House with his brother Jimmy in 1984. After selling the Gingham House in 2004, he bought Station Pizza in the Somerton section of Philadelphia, which he had until his retirement in 2018. A devoted family man, Gus instilled the core values of hard work and faith to his entire family. He leaves behind his wife Eleni nee Sourias, children Eugenia (Panagiotis) Giannoumis, George Vafiadis (Polina), Demetra (Leontios) Diamantas, two brothers; Jimmy Vafiadis (Stavroula), Nick Vafiadis (Alexandra) and 7 grandchildren; Elena, Efianna, Konstantinos, Michael, Eleni, Marilena and Konstantina.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on January 12, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with the Service to begin at 11:30, at Annunciation/Evangelismos Greek Orthadox Church, 7921 Old York Rd., Elkins Park , PA 19027. Masks are required.
Interment to follow at Lawnview Cemetery
