James G. Prinos passed away December 28, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was the beloved husband of Evangelia (nee Kostalas), devoted father of Ageliki (Winnie), Lenia, Joanna Chonofsky (Anthony), and the late George J., and cherished grandfather of Evagelia, Demetrios, Melina, Adrianna, Ashlyn, Kadence, Cameron, and Arryn.
Jim was passionate about his Greek heritage and was dedicated to his orthodox faith. As a youngster, he served as an alter boy at St. George's Cathedral and served on the parish council later in life. He also served as President of the Chios Society of Philadelphia for some years. Jim was always excited to give a history lesson about Greece and Greek Independence to anyone who was interested. He loved his family and friends deeply and his happiness was derived from the happiness of all those around him. Always caring, his warm smile, kindness and loving nature touched so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, 10:00 to 11:00, and Funeral Service at 11:00. on Friday January 3rd, at St George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 256 S. 8th St. Phila. ,PA 19107. Interment will follow at Lawnview Cemetery.
