Jason Leonard Obituary

Jason Dennis Leonard "Shaggy" of Atlantic City passed away on June
29, 2024 at the age of 49. Born on April 30, 1975 in Rockville Centre,
NY. He spent his childhood in Glen Oaks, NY before moving to Ventnor,
NJ. He graduated from Holy Spirit High School and eventually moved to
Atlantic City where he called the inlet home for many years. He was a
lifelong bartender at various establishments in Atlantic City, but called
The Borgata home for many, many years. He was affectionately known
as "Shaggy" by anyone that knew him.
He loved football, especially the New York Giants. During the football
season he played in any number of fantasy football leagues, even acting
as the commissioner in a few. As stressful as those leagues were, deep
down he enjoyed every minute of them. He enjoyed spending time with
his friends whether they were playing golf, traveling, enjoying a good
meal or just hanging out shooting the bull. He loved working on cars
and wouldn't give up until he found a solution. He loved dogs and
probably preferred them to people most of the time. Most of all, he
loved getting tattoos and the crazier the tattoo the more likely he was to
get it

He is survived by his mother and step father Joan and Ken Kerr, sister
and brother-in-law Dawn and John Rothman, nephews Jacob (Angie),
Tracy (Marissa) and Ryan as well as loving aunts, uncles, and extended
family. He also leaves behind a host of friends that were more like
family from near and far.
He was predeceased by his father Dennis Leonard, grandparents Charles
and Madeline Zakaras and Phil and Joan Leonard and his fur babies
Claudia and Ninja.

Special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and support staff at Our Lady
of Lourdes for taking care of him.

Services and Interment are private.
