John R. Dott Sr. (77) of Levittown, PA passed away on April 30, 2024, after battling a lengthy illness. John was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Robert H. and Nancy M. Dott (nee Hammerle). He enlisted in the US Navy in 1966, serving proudly and honorably aboard USS FORRESTAL (CVA 59). While raising his family he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
He was the beloved husband of Karen (nee Barnes) for fifty years. John was the devoted father of Amy Dillon (Andrew), John R. Jr (Jennifer), Jenny Folz (Brian), and Matthew. He was the cherished grandfather, affectionately "Pop" of John K., Kiersten, Ryan, Avery, Shaun, Nathan, Liam, Brian Jr., and Christian.
Loving brother of James (Mary), Diane Vernon (Robert), Thomas (Jenn), the late Robert and the late Kenneth. Brother-in-law of Vincent (Jane), Jack (Doreen), Regina Barnes-Harr (late Brian), Thomas (Cheryl) and the late Elaine and late James Barnes, esq. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
John was passionate about golf, and he enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time on the sidelines of his grandchildren's sporting events or watching proudly in the audience during his grandchildren's school recitals, plays and performances. He treasured time with his family and enjoyed family gatherings. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing and Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 15th, at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA 19056. The Viewing will begin at 9:30 and Mass at 11:00. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
